Our two original tents
A hexagonal Princess Castle Play House at 140cm across, and a Fairy Play Tent at 121cm wide with fairy star lights included. Both are held in stock rather than ordered in after you buy.
A castle of her own.
Two children's play tents, held in stock and shipped from Australia: a hexagonal princess castle with room to stand up in, and a smaller fairy tent that arrives with its star lights already in the box.

A range that started with two tents
This shop began with two tents, and they are the two this page describes. The rest of the range, from pop-up castles to playhouse tents and tunnel sets, is on the shop page. This is what to know before you order.
Nothing to assemble with tools
Both tents go up in a few minutes. The poles push into the connectors, the cover goes over the frame, and the step-by-step manual is in the box with the carry bag. No tools, and nothing to screw to a wall.
Measurements, in centimetres
Every width and height on this site is the manufacturer's own figure, in centimetres. Where a listing publishes nothing, the page says so rather than filling the gap with something plausible.
Fabric that wipes clean
Polyester taffeta on the fairy tent, premium polyester on the castle. Both wipe down rather than going through a machine, and both want to be properly dry before they go back in the bag.
Delivery you can check before you buy
Free across Australia on orders over $60, and every tent we sell is above that, so a single tent ships free. The same numbers are on the shipping page and in the cart.
Ask before you order, not after
Whether a tent fits the corner you have in mind, or which of the two suits two children rather than one: ask first. It is cheaper for both of us than a return.

Good to know
Frequently asked questions
Children's play tents. The two we started with are the Princess Castle Play House, a hexagonal pink castle 140cm across, and Fairy Play Tents, a smaller 121cm tent that comes with fairy star lights in the box. The shop page lists the rest of the range, including pop-up castles, playhouse tents and tunnel sets.
Free across Australia on orders over $60, which every tent is. Below $60 it is $22. Express delivery is $22 and can be chosen even when standard is already free. We dispatch within 2 working days and delivery then takes up to 7 working days by tracked courier, and 7 to 10 days for other countries.
The Princess Castle Play House and Fairy Play Tents are held in stock. The rest of the range ships from Australian stock held by our supplier, on the times above.
The fairy tent's listing suggests 3 years and up. The castle suits pre-school and primary-age children; its listing does not state a specific age.
No. The Princess Castle Play House and Fairy Play Tents both use poles and connectors and come with a step-by-step manual. Most people have one standing in a few minutes. Each product page says how that tent goes up.
The Princess Castle Play House and Fairy Play Tents both work indoors and out. Bring them in if the weather turns, and let the fabric dry before it goes back in its bag. Some tents in the range are for indoor use only, and the product page says which.
15 days from purchase, unopened and in its original packaging, on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The full terms are on the refunds and returns page.
No. This is an online store with no physical premises, which is part of how the prices stay where they are.
Buying guide
Buying a children's play tent online
We sell children's play tents and nothing else, so this is the short version of what we have learned: which of the two suits which room, what actually arrives in the box, and what to measure before you order.
Castle or fairy tent: which to buy
The Princess Castle Play House is 140cm across and 135cm high, and it is a hexagon. That last part is the reason to choose it: a six-sided floor gives more standing room than a square tent of the same width, because the corners are where the walls slope in. Two to three children fit inside it comfortably.
The Fairy Play Tent is 121cm wide and 132cm high, and it is the one that comes with fairy star lights in the box. It fits a bedroom corner more easily, and it is the better buy if the tent is mostly for one child to read and sit in.
What actually arrives in the box
Both tents: the tent itself, sturdy poles, connectors, a carry bag and a step-by-step instruction manual. The fairy tent adds the star lights.
Neither includes a floor mat, so the tent sits on whatever surface you put it on, and neither needs a tool of any kind. If you want lights and you buy the castle, they are a separate purchase.
Indoors and outdoors
Both work either way. The mesh panels move air, which is what makes a fabric tent bearable in a garden on a warm day, and the fabric wipes clean when it comes back inside.
Bring the tent in if the weather turns, and let it dry fully before it goes back in its bag. It is a fabric play tent rather than a climbing frame, so it is built to be played in rather than climbed on.
Where people put them
A bedroom or playroom corner is the most common, where the tent becomes a reading spot as much as a toy. After that it is the backyard on a dry day, and then birthday parties, where it does a job as a centrepiece as well as somewhere to play.
Daycares, preschools and activity rooms buy them too, usually more than one at a time. If that is you, the wholesale page is the faster route than the cart.
Measuring before you order
Measure the corner, not the room. Both tents are over a metre wide and over a metre and a quarter tall, so the thing that catches people out is a sloped ceiling or a low shelf rather than floor space.
If a number on a listing is missing or does not look right, email us at theteam@princesstent.com.au before you order and we will confirm it with the supplier.
